MARJORIE DUFFIELD
Off-Broadway credits include: Ice Island: The Wait for Shackleton (The Melting Pot Theatre Company) and Sisters of the Rails (Primary Stages). Other New York and regional credits include: Sit-In at the Five & Dime with composer Janice Lowe (In-One Alumni Workshop at Barrington Stage Company, Manhattan Community Church presented by Voice & Vision, NYU “New Voices Alumni Workshop”, Dixon Place, NYU HotInk Festival), In a Lake of Fire (Williamstheatre – Winner of the Moss Hart Award and Finalist for the Richard Rodgers Awards) and Tit Tales with composer Greg Pliska (Williamstheatre, WOW Café, New Dramatists), Lucky Hans with Danny Ashkenasi (White Bird Productions), Cyber-Alice with composer Sunmee Cho (Lincoln Center Directors Lab at HERE), On The Road To Last Chance (Dixon Place), Dick & Jane (Theatre 603), Twister (La Mama La Galleria) and Feminine Disorders: The Inevitable Transmutation of Nellie Bly (The Knitting Factory). Marjorie has worked for over fifteen years creating original operas, musicals and songs with young people as an artist-in-residence with the Metropolitan Opera Education Department, White Bird Productions and ISTA (International Schools Theatre Association), and is now the Upper School Theatre Director at The Calhoun School. She is a graduate of Williams College and the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, where she was a Jacob Javits Fellow. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild and a 2003-2004 recipient of the Jonathan Larson Memorial Musical Theatre Fellowship.
