JOEL GRYNHEIM, Project Director
Joel has been the
Project Manager for The New Harmony Project for 16 years. He was born and
raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Brooklyn College. His career in
theatre has span 30 years. He has worked as a production coordinator, stage
manager and lighting designer in many institutions including the Indiana
Repertory theatre, Yale Repertory Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre and the
Milwaukee Repertory Theatres. Over a 10 year span, Joel was the production
stage manager for both the Indiana Repertory Theatre and the Indianapolis
Starlight Musicals. In the early 1980’s, at the Yale Repertory Theatre, he
had the pleasure of being the stage manager for the premiere productions of
August Wilson’s FENCES and the Athol Fugurd’s THE ROAD TO MECCA. Joel was
the Artistic Director for the Indianapolis Artsgarden, an unusual structure
and organization that supports and promotes the arts institutions of
Indianapolis. As the coordinator, he organized more than 225 different
events during it’s premiere season. Joel lives in a historic home in
downtown Indianapolis with his wife, Janet Allen, and their two daughters.
