Joan F. David, Administrative Director

Joan F. David joined The New Harmony Project on February 1, 2006. Joan brings both management and leadership skills to The Project. Most recently, Joan served as Chief of Staff to Russ G. Lloyd, Jr. during his term as Mayor for the City of Evansville. She came to Evansville with ten years banking experience. She left Citizen Bank as Senior Vice President for Corporate, Government and Community Relations shortly after it was acquired by Fifth Third Bank. In addition to her government and banking experience, she has been an active community volunteer all of her adult life, volunteering first for her church and her children’s schools. Other volunteer experiences include: sustaining member of the Junior League of Evansville, incorporator and first president of Vanderburgh County Court Appointed Special Advocates, past President of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra Board of Directors, and two terms as an Indiana Arts Commissioner. Joan was recently appointed to the Public Art Commission for the City of Evansville by Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel, a Commission she initiated when she was with the Lloyd Administration. She currently serves on the University of Southern Indiana’s Foundation Board as Chair of the Annual Fund Friends' Campaign Committee, the University of Evansville’s Envision 2010, The Catholic Foundation of Southwestern Indiana, is an active member of Southwestern Indiana Master Gardeners' Association, and is a board member of the Indiana Coalition for the Arts. In September 2009, Joan was awarded the Mayor's Arts Award for the City of Evansville, IN. Joan earned her Bachelor of Liberal Studies Degree from the University of Evansville and is married to George; they have two adult sons and two grandchildren.
