Carrie is an actress, director and producer. Her most recent film acting work includes Tony Gilroy's DUPLICITY, John Patrick Shanley’s DOUBT, Alan Ball's TOWELHEAD, and Woody Allen's VICKY CHRISTINA BARCELONA. She is currently a series regular on the HBO show TRUE BLOOD. Carrie's other film credits include TRANSAMERICA, playing Felicity Huffman's sister, LOVELY BY SURPRISE, STRAIGHT-JACKET, STEPFORD WIVES, MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING, MERCURY RISING, FOR RICHER OR POORER, WOMAN WANTED, and THE JOURNEY. On television, she was a regular on the situation comedy EMERIL and has been a guest star on such shows as DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, NUMBERS, LAW AND ORDER, CRIMINAL INTENT, GOOD MORNING MIAMI, SEX AND THE CITY, and SPIN CITY.
On stage, she was last seen in FESTEN on Broadway. Prior to that she was in THE RIVALS at Lincoln Center and off-Broadway with Shirley Knight in CYCLING PAST THE MATTERHORN. Other New York credits include THE TEMPEST on Broadway with Patrick Stewart, BOYS AND GIRLS at Playwrights Horizons, CHAUCER IN ROME at Lincoln Center, STRAIGHT-JACKET at Playhouse 91, and playing Octavius Caesar in ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA with Vanessa Redgrave.
Carrie is one of the executive producers of Daisy 3 Pictures. Their first feature film, 29TH AND GAY, which she directed, played over 20 film festivals and is out on DVD with TLA Releasing. She also directed the short film, FEET OF CLAY, which did the festival circuit in 2007. She recently produced and starred in their third project, James Vasquez's READY? OK! which is currently making the festival rounds. Carrie was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. She is a graduate of the University of Evansville and Juilliard and is married to actor Michael Emerson.
