Margaret McMullan
Margaret McMullan: Margaret is an author and professor at the University of Evansville. She is past Chair of the English Department at UE. She has received two individual artist fellowships from the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts for her writing. She is the author of five novels including IN MY MOTHER’S HOUSE (Picador, 2003) and WHEN I CROSSED NO-BOB (Houghton Mifflin 2007), a School Library Journal Best Book of 2007. Her young adult novel, HOW I FOUND THE STRONG (Houghton Mifflin 2004), has received many awards including the 2005 Fiction Award from the Mississippi Institute of Arts, the Mississippi Library Association’s Special Award, 2005 Best Book of Indiana, and named one of Booklist’s “Top 10 First Novel” for Youth. Her stories and essays have appeared in such publications as GLAMOUR, the CHICAGO TRIBUNE, SOUTHERN ACCENTS, and TRIQUARTERLY, MICHIGAN QUARTERLY REVIEW, PLOUGHSHARES, and THE SUN. Her newest novel CASHAY is due out spring 2009.
