Joseph O. Murdock, Strategic Planning Chair
Joseph O. Murdock is
the System Vice President, Chief Organizational Development Officer of St.
Vincent Health. He was recruited in April of 1997 to design a more strategic
Human Resources function and develop state-of-the-art systems and workforce
processes. Since that time, he has re-designed and implemented pay for
performance systems, retirement pay systems, competency based selection
systems, workforce technology enabling and data management systems, health
and welfare benefits cost control systems, leadership formation and
development systems, on-boarding systems, two-way communication systems, and
flexible base pay and incentive systems. In addition, Joe has been
instrumental in designing management and leadership change frameworks that
have influenced the structural design and facility integration of St.
Vincent Health. Joe began his career at Joseph E. Seagram and Sons, Inc,
worked with Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies in New Jersey and Aetna
Health Plans as Vice President, Human Resources Aetna/US Healthcare. He is
also a Board member of St. Mary’s Health Systems in Evansville, Indiana,
member of the Ascension Health Systems Pension Committee and a Board member
of “100 Black Men of Indianapolis.” A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Joe
completed his undergraduate education at Cornell University and graduated
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Developmental Psychology. He also
completed his graduate education at San Francisco State University with a
Master of Science Degree in Psychotherapy.
